My name is Frank Soellig. I’m currently working for Dominion Fairmile Construction Ltd., and have been for the past 13 years.
I’m a Professional Engineer practicing in British Columbia, Canada. As Senior Project Manager for a large commercial general contractor, I’m responsible for all aspects of the project, including Time, Scope and Quality. I have been working in the construction industry since graduating in 1989.
I hope to use this site to assist those looking for advice regarding construction management practices as they apply to home renovations and contracting. It’s been my experience that the typical home owner is not aware of the general accepted business practices surrounding general contracting and subtrade contracting. When confronted with unscrupulous or merely incompetent operators, the home owner is mostly unaware of the problem until it’s too late and is therefore defenseless.
